I'm not a loser yet...but I hope to be one very...
You may be thinking to yourself, “But Nerissa, you’re already a loser. You write this ridiculous blog, you’re unemployed, and you watch inordinate amounts of trashy tv!” Well thank you, but I don’t mean that kind of loser. I mean the kind of loser in which all of the fat that’s currently suffocating the hot body that’s quietly lurking underneath that fat...

Benson Update, Part 2:
When it rains it pours…or at least rains hard. Yesterday, our house was broken into and our dog, Benson had another seizure…and another one this morning. it had been two weeks since his first seizure and I was beginning to think (or at least hope) that it was just a fluke. That whatever infection he had caused it and the antibiotics he’d been taking made him better. No such...
Earth Day Fail.
Yesterday was Earth Day and to celebrate the day I wanted to take my dogs out for a walk, but not just any walk. I thought the day required an extra special location and since I’ve organized a hike tomorrow with a few of my favorite gal pals to a place and trail that I’ve never been, I decided to make the trek out there so that I’d know where I was going. Take the dogs on a...

It was a beautiful day which made for a beautiful hike but this year’s unusually wet spring left some super squishy muddy parts that were impossible to get through without ending up ankle deep in mud. (See the picture of Olive below for...

The Cinderella
Last last Saturday was the culmination of three months worth of going to bed early on Friday nights and waking up extra early on Saturday mornings in order to train for a 65 mile bike ride.
Rise and No Shine
I knew the weather wasn’t supposed to be great and it lived up to its forecast. Waking up at 4am, it was difficult to tell exactly what the weather would be like, but once the sun came...

Benson Update:
We got Benson’s blood work back and everything looks fine except that he has a slightly elevated white blood cell count, which could mean that he has some sort of infection. He’ll be on antibiotics for two weeks and we still need to watch him for any seizures. Things could have been a lot worse and Benson hasn’t had anymore seizures so I’m relieved for now.

I don’t have any children, but I do have two dogs and while I can’t know for sure (because, again, I don’t have kids), I’m quite certain that I love my dogs the way that parents love their children. They are my babies and like any mother, it breaks my heart to see either of them sick, hurt, or in pain. It’s particularly heart wrenching because they (like a real...
